KODO |
||
2 days ago I had the so recommended experience(from Wound) to delight my soul watching a Japanese adventure full of driving sounds, embracing resonance, purist rhythm, and the most resolute chaos that I have ever been.
In my boxes of memories I am still catching surprises from the images and sounds that revolutionised beyond my perception, sublime! How to express it in words: Impossible! I had the 2 cds that Dyango and Wound recorded in live, I watched them in DVD, and even if I knew what to expect... nothing can compare the realism of it. Maybe many of you had already the experience, if not, it is worth to pay for. KODO = Heart Beat No better comparison I cannot be more expecific, I wish, but will be nonsense of pages and pages and still I wouldn't touch their realm. Nada Nada - 22. Feb, 14:15

Masa-Daiko & Kodo-Concert |
||||
There exists a Japanese-German drumming Group called Masa-Daiko, too. But their next concert is in Italy.
Apart from that, I completely missed, that Kodo are touring not only Britain but Germany, too. For example Hamburg(Tickets) or Düsseldorf. Now, that I have raised the red flag so quickly, I should not keep this ticket information hidden from you. Unfortunately the prices are very realistic and won't be lower ever in Germany, because of the sick foreign artists tax. Hamburg is cheaper than Düsseldorf, even though the trip may be more expensive. Even though I promise, that every single cent is paid back by a beat straight to the heart. Tickets still seem to be available, just I would have liked to have more time to save money for it. For Berlin I had saved for nearly half a year, for example. I think, I'm not able to do it now, but folks, I have seen them already and you, that you don't, should sleep a night over before you decide finally. |

Heart Beat
Something that everyone should try to realize at least once in life.
When I went to Berlin with that crazy troup a couple of years ago, for one evening and one night, just for that concert and a few terrible french fries to fill the stomach before, the effort alone already was a definite proof of my curiousity and longing to see real Taiko drummers from Japan. But only afterwards the complete enlightenment through their beauty and the conviction to once see them again were deeply carved into my soul and I will.
On one meeting here in the Wound Base, I offered the opportunity to watch DVDs of Kodo and Yamato. I think we all remember, what a difference the perfection of Kodo made.
People, as soon as Kodo plays again in Germany, I'll take the red flag and organize the excursion to a concert none of you will ever forget.
CDs... are nothing compared to being with the drummers... as the experienced Dängler knows...
Thanks for the links and for sharing your astonishment, Nada.
